A brief intro to color psychology

You should take more then a few minutes to choose the color you want for your logo design. Most people only take a second or two, and this is really not a good idea.  Once a color is used in your branding it will be forever associated with your company. It is just as important to your identity as your logo design. Your shape provides a symbol, but many people don't realize your color choice does more.

Color psychology has been used in marketing for years, but as of late it seems as though a lot of marketing companies have forgotten this. A good color selection can help make your message more effective, while a poor color selection can actually damage your company's image!

Colors evoke feelings, always have.  In logo design, the correct use of color is critical to bring out the feeling you want your target audience to have when they think of your company.

Colors are associated with certain qualities or emotions: Red colors can stimulate hunger, warmth or excitement. Cooler colors such as green and blues, make you feel calm and content. Dark colors have a tendency to make objects seem heavier, while light colors make them seem lighter. Of course not all colors mean the same things to all people.
